Bristol, CO to Tribune, KS – Day 32
Thanks again to all our new friends in Bristol. After talking to Ted and Jay in the morning, we decided to take the country roads through the small community of Hartman, CO. It was another hot day and shade was hard to come by. and Gene had to tend to a flat.
We pedaled into Kansas and were amazed at all the wheat harvesting activity. We called it a day in Tribune, KS. Here along HWY 96 most of the small towns allow camping in their city park and this one had the community pool right next door which was the perfect way to cool down at the end of the day. (1303 miles)
Gene is getting to be a pro at this
They tried to race us…no contest!
A typical Eastern Colorado rest stop
A few interesting sites on the backroads today
So much for cyclists having the right of way – it’s wheat harvest time on the Great Plains
Hope you had some “nice clothes” for the pool. Don’t wanna upset the locals…
